Quality & Standards

Eurodek® Raised Access Floor systems are constructed from high quality materials and are fully tested to meet the stringent specification standards of BSEN 12825 or PSA MOB PF2 PS/SPU, with full certification where appropriate.

Standard Eurodek® panels are gravity loose lay and have high density; high performance chipboard cores available either fully encapsulated in steel or with PVC/ABS edge banding or edge trim. For areas requiring high voids or subject to high rolling loads or heavy traffic, Eurodek’s screwdown panels provide additional security and integrity.

A comprehensive choice of finishes from factory bonded and loose lay vinyl and carpet to high lustre marble, stone and glass finishes are supplied by Eurodek®. Finishes and designs are available to complement any interior design scheme or corporate guidelines.

In the UK and Europe the recognised marks of quality and performance standards are indicated by PSA and BSEN certification

BSEN Specification

This specification is a European Standard EN 12825 was approved by CEN as a voluntary specification for private projects and mandatory public projects. BSEN specification classifies Raised Access Floors based on the load at which failure occurs, referred to as the ultimate load. This classification is also based on a chosen safety factor, deflection under working load and dimensional tolerances.

PSA Specification

This specification is a 25 year old performance standard used by the Property Services Agency and now referred to as MOB PF2 PS/SPU outlining four grades of raised access floor, light, medium, heavy and extra heavy. The PSA specification outlines a structural performance, methods of test to ensure compliance and guidance as to the working areas where each floor grade may be used.

Cutting out the jargon

Eurodek® aim to simplify the selection and use of raised access floors and a number of industry terms are used to describe the products available. Here is an explanation of the main ones used in this brochure:

Panel – the load bearing, horizontal component of a Raised Access Floor system.

Pedestal– the vertical, adjustable supporting component of a Raised Access Floor system.

Sub-Floor - the existing floor upon which a Raised Access Floor system is installed.

Finished Floor Height – the finished floor height from the sub floor, void height & panel thickness combined.

Void – the space between the underside of a raised floor and the existing sub floor, sometimes referred to as a cavity or plenum.
